If you are a user of a laptop computer, you undoubtedly learned early on that those little machines throw off some real heat. In response to that some manufacturers have developed some great designs in laptop tables. They are basically broken down into three categories. There are the very portable tables with no legs, tables with short, retractable legs, and those with longer telescoping legs that can be used either sitting or while standing and giving a presentation.

The smallest style is only small in terms of not having legs. These tables can accommodate any size laptop from the tiny versions right up to those 17 inch widescreens. The cushion is usually a beanbag type deal that can mold itself to your legs and make things as comfortable as possible. The hot air from your laptop can vent out without going through the fabric and onto your body. This makes a huge difference. These tables are great for anywhere you are, from the car to home in your most comfortable chair. Other places they can be used are in bed, on an airplane, or even while riding in the car.

The next type is usually made up of the laptop table platform with small retractable legs underneath. These units are a lot like the small tables used for breakfast in bed. You can have it straddle your body at the most comfortable point for you. You can also place the table on a coffe table and work in your living room. Finally, you can retract the small legs and use it as a lap table. Since there is no pad under this type of table, using it on your lap mightbe a little awkward and ake a little getting used to. But that is still better than having to absorb the heat of the laptop itself.

The third kind of laptop table is the type with taller, adjustable legs. The table is mounted to the top, and usually can be locked into one of several angles. The great thing about these tables is you can pull them right up to you while seated in a couch or chair. This is possible since the legs will slide right under the couch or chair, allowing you to bring the table as close as you are comfortable with. A good example of this is the split top laptop caddy.
