A glass washer is a automatic washer for your drinking glasses.  They are used in bars, pubs, and restaurants and quickly but efficiently wash and sanitize your glasses.  These washers are tough and reliable, but they do require at least a little occasional maintenance.

There are only a couple of moving parts in your glass washer.  The brushes, the gears, and the bushing, are all parts that should be inspected if a problem should arise.  These parts will not need to be replaced that often, but they should be checked for wear.

If you find that you need to replace any of these parts, you could call in a professional to do the work for you, or you can replace them yourself.  The internet is a great resource for parts that you will need for your glass washer.

The brushes in your washer will probably be the first thing to wear down.  An upright glass washer with rotating brushes that actually go into the glasses, will wear out brushes even when used under normal conditions.  Replacements for these brushes can be found online.  All you need is the model number.  Some after market brushes are shorter than the original brushes, but they will be just as effective.  Not all models will take the smaller size thought, and checking your owners manual should be done prior to making a purchase.

The gears of your washer are what rotate the brushes make your glasses clean  When the gears go bad, you will notice the brushes slowing down when cleaning the glasses.  Every washer model has specific gears, and knowing the model number is important when shopping for the right parts.

If you find yourself constantly replacing your gears, then your may have a problem with your bushing.  Turn off your washer and unplug it if you can, then use your fingers to feel for rough or jagged edges.  If they are not smooth, then it is probably time to change your bushings.

These are just some of the simple things you need to know about a commercial glass washer.  Inspecting your washer’s gears, brushes, and bushings will ensure that your machine is working properly at all times, and prevent problems before the start.  Most likely you will not have a problem for some time, but in the event that a problem does occur, you will know what to look for.  Having extra parts on hand for any unforeseen problems is also a good idea.
