The gazebo is somewhat a considerable investment so practically it is meant to last for many years. But we see that the canopies do not last that long as expected. The harsh battering of the weather like snow, UV rays from the sun, rain, and the wind that usually gives the final blow, makes the gazebo canopy short-lived. Since the frames are still intact and standing strong, the best thing to do is find a good replacement for the torn canopy.
Here are some tips which will help you find the right replacement canopy:
- Pay attention to the size of your existing canopy. You should at least know the size of your gazebo roof so you can narrow down your search to the exact size you need.
- Go for weather resistant fabrics like nylon. Nylons are durable, sturdy and aesthetically speaking, pleasing to the eye, so it can also give your gazebo a whole new look.
- Canopies have improved significantly recently so you can find something that is made of improved new materials which are mildew-resistant, scratch-resistant and fade-resistant. Some manufacturers even give 5-year warranty for their canopies. You can go also for these gazebo tops.
- Choose a cover for your portable shelter that features Velcro straps. These straps make the canopy easy to install on your existing gazebo frame.
- You can also consider multi-tiered canopies to replace your single tiered canopy. These come in a variety of color and shapes, too. There are also replacement canopies with ventilated tops which is a good feature that you can also consider.
- Choose replacements with corner reinforcements so you can be confident that you will can secure and tight-fit it to the frames.
- Presently, there are lots of gazebo replacement canopy designs that include beam lengths, roof pitch, etc. which are not included in the standard or universal canopy design. Although, these are all good additions, consult first with the retailer if it can fit to your frame.
- Keep your eyes wide open. There are lots of discounted prices and replacement canopy designs on sale in both big box and online stores.
With a little patience and these tips in mind, you will definitely bring your gazebo back to life again.
