Choosing the best fishing reels is relative to the type of fishing you are planning on doing. Most fishermen want their reels to perform in a specific manner that is associated with the type of fishing they are doing. Baitcasting reels are usually used for lake and pond fishing. They have an open spool and the line is controlled with the caster’s thumb. These reels are well suited to being used on a boat and have a long casting distance depending on the weight of the lure being used.
