There is no doubt that the price of skateboards has come down dramatically overt he last few years. We can get cheap Element skateboards of the best possible quality, and we can get many complete skateboards under $50 which is a pretty amazing price.
It is by far the best way to buy a board, getting a complete skateboard means that we can use it immediately. Of course we can buy all the pieces separate but it then takes time to put it all together and it also takes time to find out exactly what we should buy. There are a vast array of different wheel, trucks and bearings to choose from not to mention the board itself.
Much better to buy something like a complete Enjoi or Element board. We know that they are going to be of good quality and we know that they are going to be put together with the best wheels etc for that board and for general purpose skating.
Once we have progressed somewhat and understand more about the differences that are available then we can progress to maybe buying separates if we decide to go for a certain style of skating. For different niches there are preferences for the type of board and the wheels etc but for those of us who simply want to have some fun then getting a complete makes life easier. We don’t have to guess at what may be the best choice and we certainly do not have to take time trying to research the best wheels for our skateboarding.
This is why for anyone new to skating or for anyone who just wants a general purpose board it is best to simply get a complete and get skating as soon as it arrives, and don’t worry about scratching that new board, a worn board is a sign that you are using it.
