Buying bar stools is not always an easy task.  This is especially true if you wish to use the stools in a commercial environment.  Unfortunately residential chairs may not hold up very well to the repeated wear and tear in commercial environments.

Here are some of the things you will want to look for if you are purchasing commercial bar stool furniture.  Always read the fine print and check out the warranty.  Many companies may have exclusions for use in commercial environments.  If the warranty has an exclusion policy, stay away from the chair.  More than likely it is not meant to be used in commercial environments.  Manufacturers have a lot of information which is not disclosed to the end user.  This information is intentionally obscured.  This lets manufacturers change specifications or use lower grade material in an attempt to lower or cut costs down.

Avoid chairs with screws if at all possible.  The best chairs for commercial environments will usually have a minimum amount of hardware.  This is important, as overtime screws, nuts and bolts will loosen and fall out.  If you do purchase a stool with screws, it is always a good idea to purchase the screw hardware in advance.  This way, you do not have to go searching for screw suppliers at the last minute.

If you are not sure which bar stool you wish to purchase, it can be a good idea to check the weight of each chair.  The weight can give you a good idea with regards to how many how well the chair is made.  Sturdier chairs are much heavier compared to lower grade units.

If you decide to purchase a barstool with cushions, make sure to exam the padding very carefully.  Do not choose a chair if the cushions are overly soft.  High quality foam will be very firm to the touch.  This is important as over time, the chair foam will lose it’s ability to maintain the buoyancy.
