When you come home from a long day out, you walk into your house, set down your keys, kick off your shoes, and take off your jacket. Where do you put your jacket? Everything else seems to have its place. The keys have their magic bowl; shoes have their organized shoe mat, but what about that jacket?

Coat racks come in a variety of styles, colors, and materials. There are wall mounted coat racks, stand alone coat racks, and door hung coat racks. These objects are designed to fit into any décor and any place in your home.

A wall hung coat rack is typically found in a porch area or near the entry door to your home. These allow you quick access to hang your coat in an area you are going to pass through everyday in order to leave the house.
A door hung coat rack allows you to hang your coats off the closet door. These can be the type you have to nail into the door itself or the type that has hooks that go over the door top to allow for quick and easy removal if necessary. The great advantage of this style of rack is that it allows you to store away many jackets in what would typically be unused space in a closet.

There is also a stand alone coatrack that you can use as well. This style is completely mobile, which allows you to move it to any place in your house. Stand alone coat racks usually have a spot to hang coats, hats, and a place for umbrellas. These allow you the freedom of placing them anywhere and are usually beautiful to look at when they stand alone.

In general, coatracks are made out of either wood or metal materials. Wood racks are able to be more intricately designed and carved out to match other wood accents in the home. Wood racks are stained and sealed to prevent any warp from water. If you go with a metal rack, they are coated to resist any type of rust that may occur from water exposure as well.

It is very easy to custom design a coat rack stand or tree of any kind. Stand alone racks can be beautifully made with branches or drift wood and will fit into any décor. If you decide to make a wall mounted coat rack, you need to have a base board long enough to suit your needs and simply mount hooks made from metal, plastic, or little decorative items you find around the home.

Coat trees come in handy in any room and will organize your jackets in a beautiful way and add a great decorative feature while doing so.
