So, after researching all those new eBook Readers, and dismissing the popular but pricey iPad you have decided on a Kindle Wireless Reading Device. That’s all fine and dandy but where to get one? Well if you want a Kindle in the UK there is only one shop that stocks them!
Surprising isn’t it? In this age of technology and a love of all gadgets you might think you would be able to simply walk into a shop on Oxford Street and pick up your desired Kindle 2 or Kindle DX. Sadly not. It does not matter if you live in London, one of the worlds biggest shopping centers – you still have to go back home and look online to buy your amazon ebook reader.
That is the thing. The Kindle is an amazon own brand product and they are the only ones selling it. Still, you think okay I will go online and check out amazon.co.uk where I buy all my children’s books and music from. Wrong! They don’t stock the Kindle. I was amazed, but the fact is the only place you can buy a Kindle is from their .com site. I guess that means they do not need to worry about exporting and importing or dealing with customs and excise.
So if you want to buy a Kindle in London you need to go online. Well, heck you are already half way there aren’t you? If you are reading this I guess you didn’t print off a copy, but are currently sat at a laptop or PC. So just head on over to the .com site for amazon and that’s where you can order your new eBook Reader.
It is not exactly difficult, and they do promise to ship them out very swiftly. They will even include a charger that fits in UK sockets (something they didn’t previously worry about), but it does mean you can’t just pop around the corner and pick a Kindle wireless reader up in a shop – sorry!
